On Thursday 15th May the glorious setting of the iconic Holloway Circus Tower in Birmingham City Centre saw the City Sikhs Network Midlands launch in style with the Recipes for Success event.
Over 120 people attended the inaugural event and they were captivated by the guest speakers on the evening who were Paul Uppal MP, Cllr Preet Kaur Gill, broadcaster DJ Dipps Bhamrah and business mentor Sukhi Wahiwala.
The inspirational talks were followed by questions from the audience which ranged from how to break through the glass ceiling and the difficulties of maintaining a good work/life balance to topical issues such as food labelling and how to stay true to yourself whilst pursuing a career in politics.
Sunny Matharu, an Ambassador for the City Sikhs Network and one of the organisers of the event, said “It was wonderful to see so many people attend. The feedback has been incredible and we are already looking at organising our next event to meet the needs of the British Sikh community in the Midlands.”
