The Directors of Bloomsbury & the Wiener Library are hosting a special event to celebrate the launch of Helium by Jaspreet Singh.
From the award-winning author of Chef comes an important novel depicting the 1984 massacre of the Sikhs in India, which followed the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. For the first time, Jaspreet Singh is using fiction to engage with people on the anniversary of the massacre, showing how top government officials were involved and are responsible for the terrible events that happened.
The panel discussion will be chaired by Wiener Library Trustee Professor Philip Spencer and will also include Schona Jolly, a writer, journalist and barrister specialising in human rights and equality law. The event will also be supported by the South Asian Literary Festival 2013.
The book will be on sale at the event.
